One of the biggest reasons people don’t make as much money as they want isn’t because they’re incapable, it’s because their brain is actually fighting them.
The Blockage You Don’t See
While it might seem like mysterious forces are controlling our destiny or making us fall behind as others steam ahead, oftentimes it’s the person in the mirror and their brain that is our biggest blockage.
Out of the many thoughts and inputs that are related to our brains, there are many that hold us back. Apart from the obvious ones like our mindset and work ethic are some major enemies that many remain blissfully unaware of.
Let’s dive into what these are.

The Biggest Enemies: Comfort, Surroundings, Our Feeling Of Normal
If someone who is reasonably skilled hasn’t increased their income as much as their potential shows, they can make massive leaps if they become aware of these enemies that are oddly designed to appear like allies at first.
Enemy #1: Comfort
The first and biggest enemy to breaking through money ceilings is that of comfort.
When our brain has too much comfort, we lose the drive to make progress, keeping us stuck. Additionally, if someone is given enough comforts: good food, entertainment, a “good enough” place to live; they will have no reason to move or increase their income level.
They may say they want to make more money, but the comfort that their current income and living situation provides lets them know that even if they do nothing, they won’t experience any pain. Ironically, people who are uncomfortable or in actual pain or poverty are more likely to develop the drive and take action to lift to a larger income level.

Enemy #2: Our Surroundings
We become what we surround ourselves with. The scientific principle of osmosis doesn’t
Just apply to things like liquids, it also applies to humans assimilating to their environment.
If you’re hoping to level up in income, take a look at the people you’re surrounding yourself with, living near, and talking to. Almost all of the time, they are inside of the same exact income bracket as you are.
To change this, you don’t necessarily need to completely change your friend group or city. You can even start by changing your social circle online by interacting with or even just listening to stories of people who are making more money or doing exciting and entrepreneurial things. This also helps reshape our mind to take care of the last enemy we’re covering today, which is our perception of normality.

Enemy #3: What We Consider To Be Normal
More often than not in life, what we’re striving for remains a dream because we tell ourselves that it’s something we can’t have. What we always end up with is something that we think to be “normal”.
We can use this hack to our advantage by normalizing different income levels once we spend more time around people or information that says these levels are normal.
For example, if you think making $10k a month is absurd, you’ll never actually even try to make that much. If you start to tell yourself this type of money is normal or even low, suddenly your brain will start to formulate a concrete plan on how to make this income.
Our lives are a reflection of the thoughts that live in our heads.

If you want to make a change in your life, realize that the change starts within, and no matter your current circumstance, you have a choice to change and rewrite your reality, starting with your brain and its perception of reality.
